In Motion Dance Company

The In Motion Dance Company was started in 2005, the first year that Samantha Shilk-Cockerham took ownership of the Dance Center.  It is comprised of three different levels: Baby, Junior, and Senior Companies.  The Junior and Senior Companies compete and perform in various shows throughout the year.  They are also a high light in our Spring Recital!  If you are interested in becoming a part of any of these companies, please look at the requirements listed below and direct your questions to Ms Samantha.
 
Baby Company- Ages 6-9
No audition required for this group, but the dancer must be an enrolled student at TDC.  We will have rehearsals on Saturdays and perform at our Spring Recital.  Other performance opportunities may arise at the discretion of the director.
 
Junior Company-Ages 10-14 (Or students who have the appropriate Dance Level)
Student interested in the company at this level must take part in the audition (TBA) in the Fall to determine their place.  The audition is several hours of intense combinations in various styles of dance (Ballet, Modern, Jazz, and Tap).  Students are critiqued by at least one outside dance source and given individual interviews and comments on site.  Students who do not qualify for this company are encouraged to keep taking technique class and improving on the areas where they need work.  Decisions for company groupings are final.
 
Senior Company Ages 14-19 (Or students who have the appropriate Dance Level)

Rehearsal Schedule:

Friday June 13 
Junior Company 9:00 A.M.- 10:00 A.M.
Senior Company 10:00 A.M.- 11:00 A.M.

Friday June 27th
(Same day as a one day hip hop clinic if interested )
Junior Company 6-7:00 P.M.
Senior Company 7-8:00 P.M.

Thursday July 3
Junior Company 9-10:00 A.M.
Senior Company 10-11:00 A.M.

Thursday July 10
(day before competition weekend )

Please make every effort to be at these rehearsals, and let me know in advance if you plan to be out of town during one of these so I can plan accordingly. 

PAYMENTS
Competition & Rehearsal fees are as follows:
Junior Company Members owe the Dance Center $50 per student for their routine + $30 for rehearsal time with Miss Samantha for a total of = $80 summer company fee.

Senior Company Members owe the Dance Center $100 ($50 per dance) + $15 for rehearsal time with Miss Samantha for a total of = $115.00 summer company fee.

***Please make every effort to pay this fee to the Dance Center by the first rehearsal
(or sooner if you can) as I have already paid the competition compnay for your daughters fees.  Thanks for your prompt attention to this!***

Here are the dates that their temoprary schedule has us possibly (they say on the website that they will stay as close to this as they can, but please prepare for any date from wed on to sunday, and keep your fingers crossed.) performing so a hotel might not be necessary....especially for the Junior Companies One dance.  I also hope that Senior Company has both dances on the same day to save us from staying overnight.  Obviously you are welcome to make a weekend of it!  The above hotels are just suggestions from the competition company.
